MELTMIRROR는 게임 개발자이자 영상 제작자로, 이전에 HWI의 ‘너의 전생 (Your My Past Lives)’ 뮤직비디오를 연출한 바 있다. 그는 이번 리믹스를 통해 공식적으로 음악을 발매하며, ‘Eh Ah (Lesson 5)’를 90년대 비디오게임 사운드트랙처럼 변모시켰다. 이 곡을 들으면 마치 아바타가 미션을 수행하고 마지막에 스테이지를 클리어하는 장면이 떠오를 정도다. 새 타이틀 ‘Eh ・ A・B・C・D ・ Ah’는 리믹스 작업에 사용된 KORG Wavestation 가상 악기의 벡터 포지션 노브 A/B/C/D에서 따온 이름이다. 한편, 과거 Piano Shoegazer로 알려졌던 Pishu는 ‘너의 전생’을 슈게이즈의 영역으로 밀어 넣으며, 끝없이 울려 퍼지는 블랙게이즈의 소음 속으로 끌어들인다 — 완전히 MIDI 노트로 이루어진, 어둡고 깊은 언더그라운드 던전 속으로. 2023년 HWI가 자신의 데뷔 앨범 ‘Sisyphus Happy’의 커버를 디자인했을 당시, Pishu는 “그녀가 마치 슈게이즈를 시각화한 것 같았다”고 말한 바 있다. 이번 트랙에서는, 그가 직접 그 꿈결 같고 시끄러운 슈게이즈의 공기를 HWI의 세계 속으로 불러온다. To celebrate the first anniversary of the release of HWI’s album humanly possible, MELTMIRROR and Pishu each remix one track off the album. MELTMIRROR, a game developer and video creator who previously directed HWI’s 너의 전생 (Your My Past Lives) music video, makes his official music debut by transforming Eh Ah (Lesson 5) into what indeed feels like a 90s videogame soundtrack. When listening, one can almost envision an avatar navigating a mission and finally clearing a level. The new title, Eh ・ A・B・C・D ・ Ah, comes from the vector position knobs labeled A/B/C/D on the KORG Wavestation virtual instrument he used for the remix. Pishu, formerly known as Piano Shoegazer, takes 너의 전생 into shoegaze territory, pushing it deep into the endless noise of blackgaze – a darker, deeper underground dungeon built entirely from MIDI notes. When HWI designed the cover for his 2023 debut album Sisyphus Happy, Pishu said “it felt like she visualised shoegaze”. With this track, it’s now his turn to bring that dreamy, noisy shoegaze atmosphere into HWI’s world.168 1게시물 보기
