𝙇𝙄𝙄𝙍 𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙨 ˖◛⁺˖⁺˖ 사막은 무한히 펼쳐진 끝없는 공간이면서도, 부드러운 모래로 구성된 아름다운 곡선이 연속되는 공간이에요. 그 따뜻하면서도 삭막한 아름다움을 시각적으로 표현하고자했습니다. 공간에 들어서면 펼쳐지는 푸르고 드넓은 바다와 완벽히 대비되도록했죠. 노란 자연광과 바다의 푸른 빛, 자연의 석재를 사용한 이국적인 무드까지. 우리가 표현하는 사막은 어두운 밤이 되어도 영원히 아름답게 빛납니다. EN) The desert is an endless expanse, yet composed of the softest sands, forming a continuous flow of beautiful curves. We sought to capture that warm yet desolate beauty in a visual form—contrasting it completely with the vast, vivid blue sea that unfolds as you enter the space. Golden natural light, the deep blue of the ocean, and the exotic mood created by natural stone come together in harmony. 𝙇𝙄𝙄𝙍 𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙨 ˖◛⁺˖⁺˖ 중앙의 기다란 계단을 따라 내려오면 펼쳐지는 파란 바다와 풍성한 레이어를 가진 공간. 오아시는 계획단계에서부터 이 영역에 들어오자마자 펼쳐지는 완벽히 새로운 세상을 만들고싶었어요. 마치 사막이 주변을 뒤덮은 어떠한 미지의 세상과 같은 진입부로 느껴지길 바랐죠. 건물로 진입하기 전 주차장에서 슬쩍 보여지는 바다의 틈은 하나의 창과 같이 표현했어요. 저 멀리 보이는 오아시스를 발견한듯한 느낌이 들게요.이 곳은 바다 위에 가만히 떠있는듯한 위치에서 바다를 바라보기도, 바다의 한 켠에 내가 위치한듯한 느낌을 주기도합니다. 말 그대로의 오아시스, 거제에 위치한 스테이 오아시입니다. EN) Descending the long central staircase reveals a vivid blue sea and a space rich with layered textures. From the very beginning of its design, Oasi aimed to create a completely new world the moment you step into this area—an entryway that feels like an unknown realm surrounded by desert. Before entering the building, a glimpse of the sea from the parking area is framed like a single window, evoking the feeling of discovering a distant oasis. 𝙇𝙄𝙄𝙍 𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙨 ˖◛⁺˖⁺˖ 늘 아름다움의 기저에는 ‘비움’이 있다고 믿습니다. 최대한 덜어내고 비워낸 공간을 만들고싶었습니다. 본래의 한옥이 가지는 아름다움은 확장하고, 불편함은 덜어내었습니다. 전통이 살아숨쉬는 계동의 서인당에서만 느낄 수 있는 리르가 그려낸 현대적 전통의 아름다움을 만끽할 수 있는 공간으로 오래동안 사랑받길 바랍니다. EN) We believe that true beauty begins with emptiness. Our goal was to create a space that feels calm through subtraction—a place where less truly becomes more. We preserved and expanded the innate beauty of the original hanok, while gently removing the discomforts of its past. 𝙇𝙄𝙄𝙍 𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙨 ˖◛⁺˖⁺˖ 서인당(瑞寅堂)은 ‘상서로운 기운이 가득한 집’이라는 뜻을 지닌 이름입니다. 그 이름처럼, 건축주는 이 공간에 머무르는 이들이 마치 최고급 호텔에 머무른 듯한 고급스러움과 편안함을 동시에 느끼길 바랐습니다. 사실, 가장 단순한 것일수록 어떤 소재와 디테일을 선택하느냐에 따라 그 공간이 주는 인상과 만족감은 크게 달라집니다. 서인당에 사용된 가구, 하드웨어, 바닥과 벽 마감재 등 모든 요소들은 작지만 중요한 선택의 결과물입니다. 리르는 이 ’상서로운 집‘에 어울리는 다양한 디자인 아이템들을 제안했고, 그중 몇 가지를 소개하고자 합니다. 먼저, 이스턴에디션(Eastern Edition) 은 ‘무기교의 기교’를 테마로 한국의 전통 공예와 미학에서 영감을 받아 지속 가능한 아름다움을 추구하는 브랜드입니다. 리르는 이스턴에디션의 가구를 통해 한옥의 본질적인 아름다움을 강조하고, 절제된 공간 속에서 조형미로 채워지는 미니멀한 감각을 구현하고자 했습니다. 또한, 볼라(VOLA) 는 덴마크의 프리미엄 수전 브랜드로, 모더니즘 건축의 거장 아르네 야콥센의 오리지널 디자인을 바탕으로 전개됩니다. 리르는 볼라의 단순하면서도 견고한 디자인을 통해, 최소한의 형태가 공간에 주는 풍성한 아름다움을 표현하고자 했습니다. 오래도록 질리지 않으며 공간의 완성도를 높여주는 요소로써, 서인당의 디테일을 더욱 돋보이게 합니다. EN) Seoindang means “a house filled with auspicious energy.” True to its name, the client envisioned a space where guests could feel both deeply relaxed and subtly luxurious—as if staying in a world-class hotel. At times, it is the simplest elements that make the most lasting impressions. Every detail in Seoindang—from furniture and hardware to flooring and wall finishes—was carefully selected to elevate the overall experience. LIIR proposed a series of refined design pieces to complement the serene elegance of this home. Eastern Edition, a brand inspired by Korean aesthetics and traditional craftsmanship, embraces the philosophy of “technique without excess.” Through their minimalist yet sculptural furniture, LIIR aimed to highlight the essential beauty of hanok while expressing how emptiness can become its own form of fullness. VOLA, a premium Danish fixture brand, features original designs by architect Arne Jacobsen. With clean, enduring lines and a quiet strength, VOLA’s pieces were chosen to express the richness that can emerge from restraint—adding subtle depth to the calm, contemporary sensibility of Seoindang. 𝙇𝙄𝙄𝙍 𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙨 ˖◛⁺˖⁺˖ 서울 계동의 오래된 골목 안, 전통의 미감 위에 현대적 감성을 덧입혀 완성된 정제된 공간, 한옥호텔 서인당을 그렸습니다. 외관은 한옥 특유의 비례와 기존의 형태감을 유지하며, 내부는 단정하고 정제된 디자인과 소재를 사용해 고요한 감각을 제공하고자했습니다. 중정을 중심으로 배치된 본채와 별채는 각기 다른 목적을 담습니다. 본채는 편안하고 고급스러운 생활공간으로, 별채는 내추럴 스파를 품은 휴식 공간으로 계획되었습니다. 실내의 창들은 시선의 흐름을 따라 다양한 계절의 풍경과 절제된 자연의 미감을 담아냅니다. 미니멀하게 구현된 박공천장과 같은 현대적 요소는 전통 구조와 충돌하지 않고 조화롭게 어우러지며, 베이직한 자연의 소재를 통해 세련되면서도 묵직한 분위기를 연출합니다. 자연의 감각, 구조의 질서, 리르만의 감성적 디테일이 겹겹이 쌓인 이 공간은, 머무는 이로 하여금 조용히 오늘을 마주하는 순간을 선사할거에요. In a quiet alley of Gye-dong, Seoul, we envisioned Seoindang—a refined hanok hotel where traditional aesthetics meet contemporary calm. The exterior preserves the proportions and familiar silhouette of the original hanok, while the interior is reimagined with restrained materials and clean detailing to offer a serene sensory experience. The layout centers around a courtyard, with two distinct volumes: the main house serves as a comfortable and elegant living space, while the annex is designed as a natural spa retreat. Windows throughout the interior frame seasonal views and quiet moments of nature, following the natural flow of the eye. Minimal interventions—such as the reinterpreted gable ceiling—merge seamlessly with traditional forms. A palette of natural, understated materials brings a grounded yet sophisticated atmosphere. Layered with the rhythm of nature, architectural clarity, and LIIR’s emotional sensibility, Seoindang offers guests a quiet moment to meet the present—gently and inwardly. 𝙇𝙄𝙄𝙍 𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙨 ˖◛⁺˖⁺˖ 테오리아(THEORIA)는 피타고라스가 인간의 영혼이 모든 편견을 없앤 순수한 상태에서 대상을 있는 그대로 바라보는 관조정신을 지칭하기 위해 사용한 용어로, 고요한 마음으로 사물이나 현상을 관찰하거나 비추어보는 태도를 의미합니다. 우리는 테오리아 라는 키워드에서 착안해 ‘있는 그대로의 나를 위한 고요한 사색의 공간’을 그렸습니다. 멈춰진 이미지와 직선 그리고 고딕체를 활용해 심플하면서도 레이아웃을 구성하고, 무채색을 사용해 고요하고 정지된듯한 분위기를 의도했습니다. 마당의 정원을 닮은 석부작 키트를 통해 공간에 대한 경험과 기억을 확장할 수 있도록 하고 iot home기능의 사용법이 담긴 공간안내서는 온전한 나의 공간을 위한 든든한 조력자가 되어줍니다. THEORIA derives from a term used by Pythagoras to describe a contemplative state of mind—when the soul, free from all prejudice, perceives reality as it truly is. It refers to the quiet act of observing or reflecting on the essence of things with a clear and undisturbed mind. Inspired by this concept, we envisioned THEORIA as a serene space for introspection—a place to encounter oneself as is. The visual identity employs static imagery, linear compositions, and gothic typography, paired with an achromatic color palette to evoke a sense of stillness and quiet tension. A bonsai stone kit, reminiscent of a courtyard garden, invites users to expand their experience and memory of the space through tactile interaction. Meanwhile, the space guide—designed to support the use of integrated IoT home functions—serves as a thoughtful companion, helping each guest fully embrace the calm and autonomy of their stay. 𝙇𝙄𝙄𝙍 𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙨 ˖◛⁺˖⁺˖ 기다란 마당을 따라 실내에 들어서자마자 맞이하는 원형의 수공간은 방문자의 마음을 가다듬는 테오리아의 핵심 공간입니다. 원형의 수공간 속 섬처럼 자리잡은 반원의 테이블의 공간은 ‘시각적으로는’ 흑과 백이 가장 극적으로 대비되는 공간이자, ‘청각적으로는’ 레인체인을 통해 떨어지는 물소리를 통해 복잡한 일상의 요소를 배제하고 오늘의 나와 내면에 온전히 집중하게 만드는 치유의 공간이 됩니다. 목조건물의 특성상 기존의 위치에서 노출될 수 밖에 없는 목재기둥은 숨기거나 없애는것이 아닌 적극적 조형으로 이용하여 메인테이블의 오브제와 같이 활용하고, 곡선의 요소를 통해 한복치마폭을 연상시키는 한국의 미를 강조하고자 했습니다. 이 곳은 준비된 석부작을 매만지며 마음을 가다듬는 정제의 공간이기도, 차를 내려마시며 대화하는 휴식의 공간이기도, 하나의 오브제로써 바라볼 수 있는 비움의 공간이기도 합니다. Upon entering THEORIA, visitors are greeted by a circular water feature—an anchoring element designed to gently center the mind. At its heart, a half-moon table floats like an island, creating a space of contrast and clarity: visually, it presents the stark balance of black and white; sonically, the sound of water falling through a rain chain calms the senses, inviting full presence and inner focus. Rather than hiding the exposed wooden columns—inevitable in timber architecture—THEORIA embraces them as sculptural elements, integrating them with the table as visual anchors. Curved forms throughout the space evoke the silhouette of a traditional hanbok skirt, subtly celebrating Korean beauty. This space is many things at once: a meditative zone for tending to small bonsai stones, a place for tea and conversation, or a quiet, minimalist object of stillness and reflection. 𝙇𝙄𝙄𝙍 𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙨 ˖◛⁺˖⁺˖ ‘음(陰)의 미학’ 이라는 컨셉을 통해 블랙의 컬러를 메인으로 삼고, 원형의 바닥과 곡선의 벽 등의 선형의 요소들을 통한 현대적 조형과 보, 서까래, 처마 등 전통의 미를 융합하여 라이프이즈로맨스(LIIR)만의 디자인 언어로 전통한옥을 재해석했습니다. 전통적으로 한옥의 서까래는 우드톤에 화이트 회미장으로 완성되지만 테오리아는 서까래와 개판 모두 블랙컬러의 천장으로 이루어져 있는데요, 한옥에 블랙이라니! 답답하지않고 좁아보이지않으면서 한옥의 고풍스러움은 살려내고, 공간의 풍성함을 만들어내는 블랙의 컬러를 선정하기위해 현장에서 수많은 컬러조합과 조색을 통해 완성했습니다. 테오리아의 블랙요소는 실내의 화이트 마감들과 조화롭게 어우러져 라이프이즈로맨스(LIIR)가 구현하고자했던 현대적 모던함을 극대화 합니다. 전통 목공예에서 곡선을 표현하기 위해서는 수 없이 많은 공예가의 ”가다듬“이 필요합니다. 테오리아의 곡면은 공예가가 공예품을 가다듬듯 스테이에 온 사람에게 복잡한 일상을 탈출하여 자신의 내면을 가다듬을 수 있는 시간이 되길 바라면서 설계되었습니다. THEORIA by LIIR Reinterpreting the traditional Korean hanok, THEORIA explores the aesthetics of yin (陰) through a bold use of black. Curved floors and soft, sweeping walls meet exposed beams, rafters, and eaves—blending modern form with traditional elements in LIIR’s distinct design language. Contrary to convention, the ceiling is finished entirely in black—adding depth without heaviness, and harmonizing with clean white interiors to heighten a sense of calm modernity. Much like traditional woodcraft, where curves are shaped through careful refinement, THEORIA offers a space for guests to do the same—gently stepping away from the noise of daily life to reconnect with their inner stillness. 𝙇𝙄𝙄𝙍 𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙨 ˖◛⁺˖⁺˖ 곡선은 예쁘지만 공간낭비라고 생각하는 사람이 있다면 이 집을 참고하세요. 직선으로 이루어진 두 개의 박스와 박스를 잇는 하나의 거대한 곡선. 온원은 서로 다른 건축물들의 선이 끊어진 듯 이어지며 유려한 곡선을 만들어냅니다. 이는 마치 서로를 감싸안으며 조화를 이루는듯한 인상을 주고 단순한 건물의 형태를 보다 풍성하고 거대한 면적으로 느낄 수 있도록합니다. 공간의 틈에 생긴 사이공간은 각각의 기능을 부여해 다양한 경험의 장으로 활용하고, 이는 방문자로 하여금 잠시 멈춰설 수 있는 여백의 공간이자, 심리적 안정감을 선사합니다. 공간은 이어져있지만, 분리되어있습니다. 계단의 단차와 공간의 빛의 명암을 통해 공간감을 확장함과 동시에 공간의 내외부를 이어줍니다. 두 채로 분리된 집은 다양한 레벨의 바닥을 통해 이어지고, 단절없는 곡선의 형태와 유기적 연결감을 시각적으로 표현합니다. 각 공간은 저마다의 쓰임을 지니면서도, 결국에는 모두가 ‘평온한 둥글림’ 이라는 하나의 컨셉으로 수렴합니다. If you think curves are beautiful but impractical, ONONE might change your mind. This home is composed of two rectilinear volumes connected by a single sweeping curve. The result is a fluid architectural gesture that feels both expansive and harmonious—where lines seem to gently embrace one another. What could have been wasted space becomes an opportunity: in-between areas are given distinct functions, creating moments of pause, reflection, and psychological ease. The space is continuous, yet clearly defined. Subtle level changes and shifting light gradients connect the interior and exterior, while also expanding the spatial experience. Though divided into two structures, the home is tied together through a series of gentle curves and flowing transitions—ultimately converging into one unified concept: a sense of calm, rounded peace.
